Mrs. Hollis' third grade class played host to some very distinguished visitors on Monday! The Honorable W.C. Gentry and Dr. Donnie Horner stopped in to see them. They came to talk about the City of Jacksonville and how decisions are made that affect all of us. They also comae to learn about a special project these students are working on.
Greenfield received a grant from the Crayola Company to use art as a way to study our city and its history. These students have been able to visit the Cummer Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) as both visitors and artists. As artists, they were able to sketch scenes of the city and come back to school to finish their artwork. Dr. Horner and Mr. Gentry were very impressed by the artwork and by the questions our Dolphins asked.
Greenfield made the DCPS News and we are featured in the Spotlight on Education section of the website. Go to the duvalschools.org website and click on the Greenfield story for even more information.
